The Lone Star Chapter of the American Hibiscus Society will meet on September 22, 2008. With cooler weather just around the corner, it will soon be prime grafting time. Master Gardener and Lone Star Chapter VP Jeff McMullan will give a program on hibiscus grafting at our September meeting. Jeff teaches Master Gardeners how to graft and is a certified Master Gardener Plant Propagation Specialist. Along with Jerry Norman and brother-in-law Steve Hresko, Jeff wrote an informative handout on propagating rootstock and grafting hibiscus. It will be available at the meeting. If you have spare rootstock available, you may be able to sell a few of them at the meeting as we get rev’d up to graft. See the FAQ section for location details. |
