1. PurposeThe Lone Star Chapter of the American Hibiscus Society is organized for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes. 2. OrganizationThe Lone Star Chapter organized as a local chapter of the American Hibiscus Society. 3. MeetingsLone Star Chapter Meetings are held at the Houston Garden Center, 1500 Hermann Drive, in Hermann Park on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.,from March through October. Visitors are most welcome. There is a mini show held at each meeting. You may enter a total of three blooms in any category or three in one category. There is no limit on the number of seedlings entered. No prizes, only your name in The PetaloidEach meeting concentrates on a speaker, demonstrations or slide shows related to the propagation,grafting, showing and growing of hybrid hibiscus in the Houston area. Chapter members and outside experts share knowledge and care information. Chapter business information is kept to a minimum. Click for Map 4. MembershipWe invite you to become a member of the Lone Star Chapter. Dues are $36 per year, which includes membership in the American Hibiscus Society.* If you are a MAL (Member-at-Large) or belong to another chapter, and only wish to receive The Petaloid newsletter, the cost is $15.00 per year. * Membership includes 4 issues of The Seed Pod and 8 issues of our fine newsletter, The Petaloid.
